16th Anniversary Trip Visual Journal: Daily Art Practice
My son turned 15 this past week and he requested this artery clogging Reese cake. The frosting for this cake takes 2 cups of butter (4 sticks) and 9 cups of confectioners’ sugar. Yes, 9 cups! I am not a peanut butter lover like he is, but I do like this cake. If you want the recipe, it is HERE. Now that our few weeks of birthday parties are over, I can relax and lose a few pounds.
Daily Art Practice
As summer draws closer, I am excited to add some more pages to my travel journal. I recently put the finishing touches on our 16th anniversary trip to Lancaster, PA.
My title page is a map of the places we visited.
In the past, we have stayed at Bed and Breakfast, but since my husband and I have started counting calories we have found the breakfasts to be too heavy. This past year, we stayed at The Cork Factory Hotel. They offered coffee and tea every morning, which was perfect for us.
Sight and Sound is always a favorite activity while we are in Lancaster. The show David was playing, and it was AMAZING!
Outlet shopping is where we restock clothing items we may need. This year we got some great deals on shoes.
One night we had dinner at Dienner’s, which I would not recommend. The food was very disappointing. But we always have Chick-Fil-A. We usually eat lunch there as it is our favorite “fast food” restaurant.
A new restaurant to us, Smokehouse BBQ and Brews, was SO delicious! The smoked meat was flavorful, and they were not skimpy on the portions.
We all love Lego’s in our house and my husband and I spent a whole afternoon at Brick Heads, making individualized mini figures for our children.
One evening we went miniature golfing at Professor Hacker’s Lost Treasure Golf. My husband won, of course, but just by 2 points.
My very favorite meal of the trip was Mojo Asian Cuisine and Sushi Bar.
I hope you enjoyed seeing a visual journey of our trip.
I am joining in with the Tea Day ladies, hosted by Elizabeth and Bleubeard. My tea today is Jasmine Tea.
Happy Tea Day,
