Everyone Needs Some Down Time: Mixed Media Christmas Card
Crafting has been sporadic along with my blogging schedule and I just can’t seem to get on board with planning consistent creative time into life. We have spent a lot of time as a family and I am content to be a little less productive with my time. I am learning that my hobbies are one of those things that get eliminated when life gets busy. Hopefully, some time will open up soon as I only have a month left to craft for Christmas.
Creating the Card
I started by stamping this tag from PaperArtsy on the front and back of my card. I used PA Infusions for color.
Strips of paper and washi tape were layered before a wash of gesso and more color was added. A few Seth Apter stamps for the background and some gold embossing around the edges finishes off the background before embellishments were added.
All the stamps are by PaperArtsy.
Guest Designer At PaperArtsy
I am over at the PaperArtsy blog this week with a project I created for the theme: Vintage Christmas. You can hop over and have a look HERE. I used a lot of the same stamps I used on today’s card but in a different way. And I even included a tea bag.
Today is tea day hosted by Elizabeth and Bleubeard and I have been a bit sporadic with my attendance as of late. My tea today is a Tiesta Tea Ginger Sweet Peach, Spicy Peach Herbal Tea. I like to add a little bit of green or white tea to my infusion as the ginger can be a bit overwhelming.
If you are a huge tea fan like me, I strongly suggest you read this book, Infused: Adventures in Tea. It is written by a woman called the Tea Lady. She started the Rare Tea Company and her book documents her travels around world as she visits tea plantations, while finding product for her company. It is full of wonderful stories, humor and tips for anyone interested in drinking tea the right way. If you are a tea bag only individual, be prepared as your eyes will be opened to a whole new way of drinking tea.
Happy Tea Day,
