Hold My Heart Gently: Mixed Media Mail Art
Summer continues to fly by and I find my to-do list growing longer. It seems as though I will never have enough time in my life to get all my creative projects done. But I am enjoying the beautiful summer sunshine and the lazy afternoons in the pool with my little’s. I have been struggling to spend a lot of time blogging lately due to these summer distractions. Time is so short and they will be back in school soon so I am going to enjoy it while I can.
As you can see, spending less time writing and more time with my precious little people means shorter posts. 😉
Creating the Post Card
I started with a PaperArtsy postcard as my base. I opened up used tea bags and glued them down onto the card.
Next, I stenciled using the Boho Mandala Circle.
And then I started layering lace, paper and sewing using a feather embroidered stitch.
I used mostly re-purposed items from my stash for this postcard. The chipboard flourish was painted with black gesso before painting blossoms and outlining with a white pen. I used an Artistic Stamper Asian Background stamp in the background and embossed it in yellow.
I am joining the ladies for tea over at Elizabeth and Bleubeard‘s. I thought I would share my new Stainless Steel Tervis Mug that I bought on vacation to drink my daily cuppa tea. I love that it keeps my tea steaming hot for hours preventing the need to reheat. As most of you know, multiple interruptions can prevent a mother from ever drinking an entire cuppa tea.
