I’ll Have A Side of Roses: Mixed Media Mail Art
Couch Talk
I don’t have anything to share baking wise this week because I made a lot of bread and we are still consuming the desserts that I shared last week. But I did get time to craft and garden this week. I have been clipping roses from my rose bush to bring into the house to decorate.
Creating the Mail Art
To create the mail art, I started by using my new StencilGirl stencil and some metallic embossing paste. The background was painted using Dylusions paint and a PaperArtsy stamp that was embossed in gold.
Vintage paper, washi tape, more embossing, fabric and a TH paper doll complete the mail art.
Tea Day
I am joining the ladies over for T day over at Elizabeth and Bleubeard. My tea this week is a Japanese Green Sencha. It has a bit of an earthy taste, not my usual, but perfect for first thing in the morning.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Hi Kate, your roses are gorgeous! and I love your art and tea this week too
could you give me a link to the bentonite clay paste you suggested? thanks
Happy T Kathy
Your roses are out of this world. I really like the mail art you created, too. It’s beautiful and the TH dolls are perfect on the layered mail art.
I’ve never heard of Japanese Green Sencha Tea, but I love the vignette you created. Thanks for sharing your tea blend, your roses, and your mail art with us for T this Tuesday, Kate.
Beautiful art, love the texture, so pretty. Your garden is looking really good. Happy T Day, take care, hugs, Valerie

How amazing are those roses, they remind me of painting the roses red from Alice in Wonderland – gorgeous 😁. I love your mail art too, wow that background is spectacular with the vibrant colours and embossing! Your tea looks very interesting, I’d be happy to share a cup with you! Happy T Day wishes! Take care! Hugs, Jo x
Hi Kate. This piece of art with the oriental flare is just gorgeous. I am impressed with the depth and the 3D effect. Just wonderful. Wow and your roses are amazing. Have a great week.
Hi Kate! beautiful roses and mail art! I got my envelope from you yesterday, and your postcard from me went into the mail today. Love all the layers and textured bits you included on yours, and the one featured on your blog today is gorgeous too. Stay safe and well!
Dianne
Your roses are gorgeous, and you have so many. Well done. I also like that large hosta below your roses.
Oh that mail art is so beautiful. I like the vintage look.
I’ve heard of Sencha tea but I have never tasted it, let alone green sencha. Reading about your tea adventures is a real eye opener for me.
Wishing you a happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Lovely mail art, Kate. You’re the queen of layering.
Gorgeous roses! When you stop by to visit, I think you’ll get a kick out of my bread baking experiemnt.
Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen xx
Beautiful roses! I’ve never tried growing them myself…other than a small pot of roses which didn’t make it. I’m in love with your tag this week. The colors and texture are amazing!
Happy T day!
HiiKate,
In fact, the loaf of bread that I baked on a pizza stone, did look and taste like foccacia! I baked the second loaf in a bread pan.

The roses are lovely. My rose bushes didn’t survive a harsh winter a few years ago. Lucky the person who gets that mail art. Green Sencha tea. I’ve been watching a new to us series on Netflix Person of Interest. Harold, one of the main characters only drinks Green Sencha tea. Happy T Day
Your rose bush is gorgeous. I can see why you want to bring them inside. And nice art too Kate. I love the textures you combined as well as the different papers. The results are really beautiful. Hope it was a great T day. I am a bit late getting around to blogs. Hugs-Erika
Hi Kate, your roses are a beautiful colour. I love your mail art and all the textures and colours, especially the little girls!
That tea always looks like something you could eat, not sure why, I love to look at it but wouldn’t drink it.
Have a lovely week
