Is that Dust on My Painting? : Mixed Media Mini Album
Couch Talk
Whew! Another week has flown and I almost forgot to post. I haven’t had any time to sit down and create this week so I am going to share our bathroom remodel updates. If you remember, I recently painted my hutch a lovely Envy Green by Sherwin Williams. I needed to use this color somewhere else in my house so I decided to paint an accent wall in my powder room. After painting it green, I stenciled using the Asian Shibori stencil and purchased this Gustav Klimt Painting.
Construction started last week on our master bathroom and it took them two days to demo. The dust was unbelievable and it left a thick coating all over our bedroom. I spent a few days washing all our laundry, vacuuming and dusting as hubby seemed to have an allergic reaction from the dust.
The color of the vanity was supposed to be more green than blue but what can you do? I had a crazy time trying to get the lady at the paint counter to match the paint chip to the actual paint. One hour later she still couldn’t get it right, despite it being an advertised color. I decided to go with it versus returning the color. Do you like the color? Here is the vanity against the floor tile. Also pictured is our mirror and accent tile for the shower. I will show more pictures as things progress.
Mini Album
I created these mini album pages for my StencilGirl column last month. I am still adding to the album so I will be sharing pages as I create.
I created this album out of white paper lunch bags.
I used all StencilGirl stencils to embellish and create my backgrounds.
All the pictures are from our trip to Colorado Springs last summer.
Tea Day
I am joining the T ladies hosted by Elizabeth and Bleubeard. Today, I am sharing my new tea sample sent by Rishi Tea. I purchased a pound of this Rishi Tea Peach Blossom and they sent me Rishi Organic Houjicha Green Tea to try. The customer service was great, it arrived a few days after ordering and I got free shipping. I would definitely order from them again. I will let you know how it tastes as soon as I try it.
Thanks for joining me for tea day. And don’t forget, you have until to 24th of September to enter the StencilGirl Seth Apter blog hop and giveaway. You can find my post and the details HERE.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Los of wonderful art today. Have ‘fun’ with the bathroom. hope it is soon finished. Happy T Day, Valerie
Good morning both of your walls are lovely-the stencil you used made a pretty pattern. Love your art journals very much-you are very talented-hugs. that is pretty bad that they can’t match the paint for you-I would ask for someone else to mix it for you if you are not pleased with the color-perhaps she is new working there.
you find such good looking teas -Happy T Kathy
Wow, your bathroom is going to look stunning! Loving the pieces and tiles that you’ve chosen 😁. Your scrapbook pages are amazing too, you have showcased the photos of your family so beautifully, it’s a lovely way to capture such happy memories! The tea sounds delicious – Happy T Tuesday! Hugs, Jo x
Picking colors is difficult sometimes. I have a red dining room and I wen through the same thing as you did with your blue. It was either too pink or too fire engine red or something not right. I think I went through 5 gallons to get it like I wanted it. I like your blue. A bit turquoise which is a nice color. . And I like the green wall with the stencil. That looks super. That stenciling project is creative art for certain. Nice scrapbook too. It feels like rich carpeting (that’s a good thing if you can follow my thought process) and will be a nice memory book of your zoo trip. Have a great T day and start to the new season. Hugs-Erika
Construction in the house is always a messy job but the results are worth it. More important is, do you like the color? That tea just sounds so good. Yumm peach. Have a wonderful day.
What a striking accent wall! Your demo sounds like it caused a mess, but the finished room will be worth it. I love the color! Happy T Tuesday 🙂
Very creative in both your art and your home renovations. We have construction dust everywhere too and I thought we were done with that phase and forgot they have to sand when they plaster too ~ Ugh ~ I’m right in the middle of it too! I hope to post a kitchen update tomorrow. Enjoy a nice cup of tea & I will too!
I’m impressed with your stenciling. Beautiful! I also love Klimt and had three of his prints in our living room in the UK.
What a bummer your hubby is not tolerating the dust. I hope they will get it done in good time. I love the deep blue colours. The board on the left actually goes very well with the blue tiles (well, in the photo anyway) and the mirror surround looks a bit more turquoise to me. But I know what you mean by not getting the colour just so.
Your mini album of your trip to Colorado Springs is lovely. It will be a beautiful reminder of your trip in years to come.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
The Klimt painting colors look strange — my computer must be doing something funny with the greens and reds. I saw that painting in Vienna and loved it. Also the ones in New York. He’s a great painter.
Your stenciling does look very neat and professional.
be well… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Your accent wall looks spectacular and the Klimt painting really makes it pop. I think the blue paint you went with coordinates beautifully with the tile. I really love the mermaid wall tiles.. clever to make your trip journal from lunch bags. Take care and have a Happy T Dy
Oh, boy, not a fun job with getting rid of the dust, but wow, I love the colors and the mirror!
My SIL had another project with wonderful colors (deep red) and old mirror with golden frame.
The photos are very cute, too, happy memories for later. Belated happy T-day!
What fabulous colours and I love the mirror ! The dust wouldn’t be good but it’s done now and you can get on with the best bit!
I adore your mini album – lots of lovely memories too! Have a great week, belated T Day wishes, Chrisx
I love your stenciled wall and the Klimt painting. Great combo. The blue is quite dark. Maybe it will work when you get everything put together. I prefer the distressed blue of your mirror.
The mini album pages are gorgeous. I look forward to seeing more.
Happy T-day! Stay safe and stay well. Hugs, Eileen
Oh, your stencil album is gorgeous! And, I love the colors you are working with for your re-do. Happy belated T Day!
