It’s All In A Cobb Salad: Daily Art Practice
Couch Talk
I didn’t realize how sporadic my postings have been until I looked back and saw that I have only posted twice this month. Time has picked up and so has our schedule. Two weeks ago, I had a birthday but my daughter and I were suffering through the stomach flu, so we didn’t celebrate. Last week, hubby and I spent a wonderful day at the greenhouse and eating at our favorite coffee shop. That evening, he made this delicious Cobb salad to celebrate my birthday. It has BBQ chicken, caramelized onions, eggs, avocado, tomatoes and a honey mustard dressing. All the things that I love! He is a keeper!

My column is up at StencilGirl. Hop over and have a look HERE. I am trying out a new-to-me medium and I am working in my sketchbook.
Daily Art Practice
I recently painted these French Macarons for my friend’s birthday. It was a very challenging subject as I haven’t painted many macarons. I painted this picture 3 times before I got one that I was satisfied with. My reference photo is from Pinterest and I used watercolor on Arches paper.
Tea Day
I am joining the Tea Day ladies, hosted by Elizabeth and Bleubeard. My tea today is Mount Olympus Flowers from Passenger . This past weekend, we spent a few days in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with friends. We visited this tea and coffee shop and I had this tea, which has white pepper, thyme and spearmint. It was very different than the usual fruity flavors that I gravitate towards. The white pepper added a bit of spice and there was a strong undertone of thyme. I don’t recall tasting the spearmint.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Hi Kate, so sorry you and your daughter were sick on your birthday-no fun at all.
The salad your husband looks loo delicious, and love your macaroon painting
Happy T hugs Kathy
That’s a really interesting tea.. I like the idea of the white pepper to give a spicy taste, but maybe not too much pepper. And I think your macarons look good enough to eat. Sorry to hear you were sick for your birthday, but that salad looks like something I’d enjoy. And I can’t get my hubby to make a salad like that, so yours is definitely a keeper. Have a super T day and week ahead Kate. hugs-Erika
Cobb salad made with bbq chicken sounds brilliant. And the macarons also look delicious.
