Please Send Me a Parcel: Mixed Media Card

Parcel
One of the things that I love about the holiday season is opening the front door to a parcel, even if it is not for me. Now that the holidays are over, it is slightly disappointing to only be receiving bills in the mail. My daughter turned 3 this weekend and we had all sorts of packages and cards coming in the mail. It was fun opening the door to find something waiting. And of course, it is exciting to see her open these packages. Strangely enough, children pick the most unusual toys to become attached too. You would think they would like the bright pretty toys but when it comes down to it, a lot of times they love the simple things that were intended as an after thought.
I thought I would share a few photos from her party. We kept it small and simple with just family. The cake is made with Almond flour and coconut palm sugar. My daughter is all about strawberries so most of the food was strawberry themed.
We spent most of her actual birthday at her brother’s basketball games. Here she is in one of her favorite outfits waiting for the game to start. She loves cheering her brothers on!
Creating the Mixed Media Card
My childhood friend had a birthday last month so, I decided to spend a few hours at my work table to ease myself back into paper crafting. I have been sewing non-stop for almost 3 months so playing with paint was very relaxing.
I started off with lightweight chipboard as my base. After covering it with book paper, I sprayed it with light purple and painted with my new art alchemy paints which give it a lovely shimmer. After adding some fabric, tissue paper, a stamped tea bag, string and PaperArtsy stamps.
Tea Day
I am sharing the Berry Pear-a-dise tea that I mentioned last week. I am not putting a link because I was quite disappointed once I received the tea. It had absolutely no taste and no aroma. I am writing the company for a replacement as I think I got an old batch. I drink so many of this company’s teas and this is the first time I have tasted one that my palette has not liked. Hopefully, it is just a fluke and a taste from a fresh batch will remedy the problem.
I am playing along with the T ladies at Elizabeth and Bleubeards‘.
Thank you for stopping! Happy Tea Day!
Kate
