Scarabs in my Sourdough: A Couch Adventure

Couch Talk

I know I haven’t shared our completed bathroom yet by I am waiting until we receive a few more items in the mail. Everything has been on back order so we are playing the waiting game. But in the meantime, I have been enjoying our bathtub. One night I snapped a photo. That shadow on the wall is our pendant light. Pretty cool, huh? Our bathroom is now my favorite room in the house and I try to spend as much time there as possible.

Madhubani

Not a lot of art going on here.

I am working on another Madhubani piece. This one is rather large and I am still trying to figure out how I am going to fill all the blank space in the background. I have been using my new uni-Posca and micron pen set for these drawings.

Baking

For the first time in forever, I made regular sourdough. In the past, I made a boule shape loaf and it turned out like a frisbee.. Discouraged, I gave up. This week I decided to give it another go at the urging of my cousin. Her sourdough turns out perfectly. I used my weekly Cinnamon Sourdough Raisin Bread dough as the base, and did everything the same, omitting the cinnamon and raisins. I didn’t know if it would work but I think they turned out beautifully. My family thought they were quite tasty.

Tea Day

I am joining the T ladies over at Elizabeth and Bleubeard’s. Today, my tea of choice is Nspire by Numi Organic Tea Silver & Spice. My new shipment of this tea should arrive Wednesday and I am excited to finally have my daily pot of spicy tea.

Happy Tea Day,

Kate

  • Hi kate, nothing better than being able to enjoy a warm bath in quiet and peace. I love your art, and your bread looks delicious. once you get a good starter going
    you can bake any bread.
    Happy T Kathy

  • I love taking bubble baths. Your bathroom and the shadow of the pendulum light look wonderful. I can’t wait to see the whole thing. I am glad you are enjoying it. Happy T Day!

  • I think your bath is already gorgeous, at least from the small amount I have seen. The colors you chose are gorgeous, and I get the feeling this has a Middle Eastern feel to it,

Your Scarab is beautiful. I like it just as it is, but I’m a minimalist when it comes to art (grin). And I think your bread is beautiful.

Your tea looks and sounds wonderful. I’m sure you will love it, because it sounds like something I would also enjoy. Thanks for sharing your bath, your scarab, your bread, and your tea with us for T this Tuesday,

  • Wow, what beautiful reflections from the light in your bathroom – amazing! Your artwork looks so elegant with the gold and the sourdough looks delicious – yum 😀. Enjoy your teas when they arrive too. Take care and wishing you a very Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x

  • Oh how lovely to catch your breath in such a beautiful and relaxing new bathroom space!
Good for you for giving the bread another try It certainly looks yummy.
And your Madhubani piece is so beautiful.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy your new tea as soon as it arrives:) Happy T day!

  • Great picture of you enjoying your new bath tub. The reflection from the light is beautiful. I look forward to seeing the complete room.

I’m not a scarab fan. I think they’re creepy. I think I got that from “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” lol

    Your sourdough bread looks delicious.

Happy T-day! Stay safe and well. Hugs, Eileen

  • Wow. That light creates an absolutely amazing shadow. What a nice view as you soak in your tub. And good to hear your sourdoughs came out great.. Bread baking is an art I have come to believe, and like any art it takes time to learn all the tricks. Sounds like you are there. Hope you had a great T day Kate. Hugs-Erika
