Take Me To The Mountains: Travel Art Journal Part 1
Mountain Culture
When my boys were little, I made mini albums all the time. My first born even got one for every month of his life during his first year. But as life got busier I stopped making albums and focused more on art journaling. This year, one of my goals has been to complete some of the projects that have been sitting, lonely in my to-do bin. Our family took a trip to Colorado Springs back in 2015 and the pictures have been sitting, waiting for a home. I finished it just in time for us to take another family vacation to that beautiful state.
A few things that I loved about Colorado were the mountains. We have mountains here in PA but they are different than the ones in Colorado. The ones there had less trees so you could see more of the outline of the mountains. I loved the lack of humidity. For a girl that went to collage in Florida you would think I could handle it, but I can’t. Humidity is not my friend. Hair wise and mood wise. Also, while shopping in Colorado, I found so many interesting shops that are not available in our rural region of PA. The shopping was a culturally diverse experience which made me feel like I was somewhere else in the world due to the smells, colors and music surrounding me. I could spend a week there just browsing the shops. But the best part was spending time with family.
To create this mini album, I used 8×8 patterned paper with coordinating embellishments. I used my bind-it-all to bind the book together.
Tea Day
I am joining the T-day ladies over at Elizabeth and Bleubeard’s. My drink for today is one of my new birthday teas. Hubby knows me so well. This is a pear with white and green tea. The aroma is amazing due to the pear.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
That’s a gorgeous album, full of wonderful memories for you. I am sure the kids will love to look back at it later when they are grown up, too. Have a great week and a happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
it is a joy to see all the elements in your family albums. these are the books that will be treasured forever!!
your tea of the week sounds very tempting:) happy t-day and have a great week!
The album is a lovely way to store family memories. All the photos looked super and you all looked so happy enjoying your holiday.

It must be so satisfying to have finished a project from 2015. I never realized you had three children. Your little girl features heavily and of course you say all the time how much you love them all, but now I know you have two more children.
I’ve not been to Montana but people say it’s beautiful. The mountains here in Italy are beautiful too, but I haven’t seen it yet as we have had fog and/or torrential rains ever since we got here. We’ve not been out at all. Bummer.
Happy T day

Your art journal and mini album pages are fantastic. Great compositions. I agree with you about not liking humidity. When that rolls into CT during the summer, it’s unpleasant. Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons, partly because of the crisp clean air and lack of humidity. Happy T-Day!
Wonderful layouts dear Kate! Happy T-Day my friend! Hugs, Susi
Hi Kate, your albums are lovely, I still have two albums sat in the drawer, I’ve lost count how long I’ve had them, I intended to make one every year for our Grandsons but just never really got into scrap booking until the last few years. I(‘m still on the first one for each GS!!
Happy T day

I also love Colorado. I have been to PA and one thing I can say for it, it’s a BIG state. Mostly I just traveled through it. Your scrapbook pages are wonderful. I love the layers, even when you are keeping things flat. These were incredible pages with wonderful embellishments, too.
In case you didn’t know, the water is finally out of my basement, but the walls are still damp. I have bleached everything, and don’t seem to have any mold. I just needed a day with sunshine and no rain. It was a true blessing. Now I can get back to my computer and my virtual life.
Your tea looks wonderful. I love pears and I’m going to see if my local tea shop has something comparable the next time I go. Thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous art and your pear infused tea with us for T this Tuesday,
I love how you arrange the elements in you album pages. Pear in tea sounds delicious 🙂 Happy T Tuesday!
Wow, your mini albums looks amazing! It looks like you were having such fun family time and you captured this perfectly on your pages, they portray such happiness in the colours, designs and photos – beautiful 😀. Sending you Happy Tea Day wishes! J 😊 x
Oh, I can almost smell your tea. Oh, wait, that is my tea! I love your mini album! Thanks for sharing. I am a scrapper, and you have given me some ideas! Happy T Day!
Wonderful memory pages, Kate. While I can relate to your struggle with high humidity, we have 90 F and 13% humidity today and my skin feels like parchment. Another month until our rainy season comes.
Your Colorado memories of the ambiance and shops remind me of a trip we took to CA wine country when we went there for our son’s wedding. You’re right, the family memories were the best part.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Looks like everyone had a good time on your Colorado trip. I’ve only been to Boulder, CO on a layover from a flight from LA to Boston. Happy T Day
It’s nice to work on and finish up some projects, isn’t it? When my daughter was little I also scrapped a lot but like you, they got more art journal like as I progressed and now that is what I do. But it is still good to have those old scrapbooks. Yours looks great Kate. I bet it was a good family vacation too. Hope it was a super T day. hugs-Erika
What a lovely way to capture those memories! I used to make my 3 grandchildren a year book of their photos but then they stopped being happy to be photographed so that came to an end! Belated Happy T Day! Chrisx
