Thanks to Dad: Mixed Media Card
So many times in my life, especially when I was younger, I took my dad for granted. My Dad is kind-hearted, cuddly, a peacemaker and always smiling. I have some wonderful memories of father daughter dates to the local pizza place or grocery store. But the best memory I have is of the support that my father gave when I was planning to marry my hubby. My Dad planned most of my wedding while I was away at my senior year of college. He found the venue, the photographer and went cake testing. How many Dad’s do you know that will do that? I had a lot of stressors in my life after finishing college but wedding planning wasn’t one of them thanks to my awesome dad.
I know there are many girls my age that don’t have a dad so I am really thankful that I still have mine around. So Dad, if you are reading this, I love you!
Creating the Cards
I was very behind in creating my Father’s day cards this year but better late than never, right? So I made these two very similar with a few slight differences. I used the Art Deco Peacock Feathers and the Decorative Flower Stamen Medallion stencil. I stamped and embossed with a Tim Holtz steampunk stamp. The sentiment is a Tim Holtz die cut.
I used a few of my TH Paper Doll copies my new white pen to doodle around the edges. I finally found a white pen that works over paint and other mediums! The paints in the background are Dylan Reavely Paints. I love the bright colors.
I am joining the ladies over at Elizabeth and Bleubeard‘s for a drink related post. I am sharing some of my pretty tea tins filled with loose tea that I picked up at the Asian Grocery Store. I love shopping in their tea section. They also have a great selection of medicinal herbal tea blends.
