That’s the Ticket! : Mixed Media Tag

Couch Talk

My brains have been full of tile and paint colors that past week. We are getting our master bathroom remodeled due to plumbing issues and the boxes have started arriving.  The process was started back in February but due to Covid we were waiting for ages to get a start date from the contractor. Finally, our ticket was pulled and we are on the schedule for sometime this month.  I am not going to lie, it’s exciting to have an excuse to shop but there are SO many choices. And just when we thought we had it down, we had to change one thing, which in turn made us change several other things. This will probably happen again as our mermaid tile came in this morning and it looks nothing like the online picture.

Here is the moodboard I put together of all of the items we purchased or are planning to purchase. When it is all complete, I will show you the finished product.

Creating the Tag

This tag was in a bin on my desk for several years until I recently pulled it out. The back of the tag was covered  in patterned paper and sprayed. I stamped a Gwen Lafleur stamp from PaperArtsy in the background and embossed in gold before layering scraps of paper and embossing with a stencil.

You may notice the ticket that I used from Elizabeth’s 7th anniversary package. I also added a TH paper doll and some lollipop stamps.

Tea Day

I am joining the T day ladies hosted by Elizabeth and Bleubeard. My tea today is Peach Lemon with dried apple, white hibiscus, lemongrass, sweet blackberry leaf, roasted chicory, lemon peel and dried peach. This tea is SO yummy! I am disappointed that it was a limited edition from Aldi but I am hoping it will come back soon. Good thing I grabbed two.

Have you ever designed a room? What was your favorite source to pull it all together?

Happy Tea Day,

Kate

  • I designed our bathroom around a mermaid painting by David Delamare turned into a wall tile mural. Then visiting tile showrooms looking at wall and floor tile. Your ticket to the T Day party is clever and I bet your tea would be delicious iced. Happy T Day

  • Wonderful art! The ticket looks fabulous as part of your design – perfect 😀. Great to be getting your bathroom remodeled and I’m loving your mood board! Wishing you a very Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x

  • Hi I love your tag, and your teas always look so good.
Barbara is the lady that sent you that little loom and yarn a couple years ago. I don’t know if she made up the pattern or not-allot of detail in it plus the beading her blog is https://stringing-buttons.blogspot.com/
    Happy T wishes Kathy

  • Good for you to get back to your bathroom. And those are exciting things on your mood board. We pulled some of ours apart last summer as it was just old and tired, but we have yet to get back to it. Maybe this winter. The next step we need to do is a ceiling. And that is a great tag. I love the big candy you added. It makes it lots of fun. Hope it was a great T day. Hugs-Erika

  • Great tag, Kate.

Here I am whining about the leak in our bathroom and you have to re-plumb your whole house! Oh my.

Your mood board is fabulous. I hope you can find a more suitable mermaid scale tile. It looks lovely in the picture.

    Belated Happy T-day Hugs, Eileen

  • Lovely artwork.

Happy T-Day! (I’m leaving a generic comment for everyone this week, because I’m very sore after each day’s storm clean up efforts. Tropical Storm Isaias clobbered Connecticut US August 4, 2020.)

  • OH, I love the idea of mermaid tile in the bathroom! Great mood board, too. I am not much of a designer, except for color. I redid our living room in our pervious home and our furniture good inspiration for color and for leaves, painting, etc., howver I didn’t do a mood board. Great idea, though! Your tag is wonderful, Kate, I hope you had a great T Day!

  • hhmmmmm peach lemon tea. That just sounds so refreshing. It is exciting to get a new room especially the bathroom. Yes, give me that tub. I am glad you are finally getting it done. Enjoy.
