The Time Will Never Be Right : Mixed Media Mail Art

Embrace the Chaos

While driving to church yesterday, our car was filled with chaos. My daughter was singing an off-key mash up of Let It Go and Chim-Chiminy in the back seat and our middle son was trying to hush her in very loud tones so that his piece could be heard. My oldest son, was sitting in the middle, attempting to hush both of them. Meanwhile, my husband and I were also trying to have a conversation.

Instead of telling everyone to lower their voices and be quite (my usual response), I chose to enjoy the noise in my backseat. I tend to get overwhelmed easily so it is not easy for me take a breath and let it go. But reflection is helpful in changing ones view and I try to include it in my schedule from time to time. In the not too distant future, my oldest will be off to college with my middle son not far behind. I will be wishing my backseat to be filled with noise but instead it will be quiet. So, I have decided to make the most of these little moments and instead of being uptight, I am working on finding the joy in the midst of the chaos.
